A Jesse Tree is a picture or story of the genealogy, or family tree, of Jesus. Quite a few authors and homeschool moms, probably among others, have written a list of scripture stories that go along ornaments to decorate your very own Jesse Tree. This year, I think the boys are old enough to understand the concept of what the Jesse Tree represents. So, we are reading through the scripture stories as they work on coloring and cutting out their ornaments.
Isaiah 11:1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him...
Jesus is the "branch" the verse is talking about.
I painted our Jesse Tree on the back of the Thanks Tree. I just pinterested for a picture I felt best described the verse above.
Up close picture of our ornaments. I am just backing them with cardstock and then we are taping them to the tree. I laminated the first batch, but with Max coloring more than half of his in black, I was not sure if was worth wasting a laminating sheet on the ones from this year, lol.
This is what the tree looks like at this point in time.
