Our New House

I think my last post left us having our household goods delivered to the house.  I unpacked as much as I could as the guys were delivering things, but that did not feel like much, lol.  Monday we received all of our things from storage, which we had not taken to the Azores.  That was fun, like an early Christmas present. Our bedroom furniture, the nursery furniture, Mike's furniture from when he was a kid.  That was a nice surprise, as we were thinking that we would need to buy the boys at least a dresser.  Instead, we got both a dresser and a bureau with a bookshelf on top.

We received all the things we took to the Azores with us.  OMGoodness, I have so much kitchen stuff!!  However, every single thing fit into the kitchen at this house, and I even have two empty cupboards.  While unpacking all of our things we purged so much stuff that we have enough for a garage sale.  It is amazing what you end up bringing along with you when you move.  Then of course, in the process of doing immense amounts of laundry, the Mom of the house decides to wash the dry-clean-only bedspread.  Yeah, not a good move, as you might have guessed.  Not sure how I am going to fix that one.

The kitchen took me two whole days to get through and I think I ran the dishwasher like 10 times over the span of two days.  We moved on to the school and scrapping area, mostly done, but still in progress.  One nice thing is that the movers will put together any of the furniture you want them to, so all of our shelves and our desk were completed that first day.  Took us a couple go rounds, but we figured out how we wanted the room set up.  Mike only had to move the furniture around a few different times.

Jackson and Max are loving having so much space.  They have a nice big playroom, which they make a mess of every day.  But they have lots of space to set up their GeoTrax.  If I could appropriately express in words the funny way Max says the word GeoTrax you all would be getting a good laugh right now.  He puts a great emphasis on the "O."

We are in the process of hanging pictures and getting everything gone through.  Mike just hung wedding pictures, which I have not seen in 2.5 years.  Very fun.  Now, I would like to collect some pictures of our families and good friends to hang as well.  I also found Max's newborn pictures and the photos of the boys' little toes with our wedding rings around them.  Can't wait to put those on the walls:)
