Sunday Stories

We discovered a mango tree in our backyard.  I was so excited.  The boys ran around and helped me pick up a few mangoes and we brought them in the house, where I proceeded to photograph them.  Next, I opened one up to see what it looked like on the inside, as they look different than the kind you find at the grocery store.  I discovered the fruit looked very similar and it tastes super sweet.

Of course, I have the pickiest children on the planet and I had to bribe them to eat some.  And Max only said yes after Jackson did, otherwise, I think he would not have even thought about a taste.  White chocolate chips for Jackson and sucker for Max.  I cut them each a little piece of the mango.  Jackson takes the tiniest bite ever.  And says he doesn't like it.  Max literally licked the fruit and said he didn't like it.  Oy!!  These boys.

Jackson:  Mom, in heaven we won't need to eat, drink, OR sleep.  We won't have to do anything you and Daddy tell us to do!!

We have come to the end of our Jesus Storybook Bible, so we were talking about what comes next.  The end of the book says the story is "to be continued."  So, we talked about how we will either die and go to heaven if we believe in Jesus or Jesus will come again and we will get to be with Him.

Max was very concerned about what heaven will be like and if there will be food there.  This, from the child who hardly eats and when he does eat, he wants candy or ramen noodles with white sauce.  Anywho, Max got a little upset and very seriously said, "Mom, but if we want to eat in heaven we can right?  What if we are hungry in heaven?"

Me:  Max, I am sure there will be food in heaven and if you want to eat, God will surely want you to have the most delicious food ever.  Maybe candy will even be healthy in heaven!

That thought brought a smile:)
